The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has extended the red heatwave warning, which will affect Romania starting Monday. Temperatures will reach highs of up to 41°C, and meteorologists forecast days of significant thermal discomfort and tropical nights, with lows of up to 25°C. The heatwave is intensifying, peaking at the beginning of next week, when almost the entire country will be under severe heat warnings. On Sunday, the red warning will target Crișana, Maramureș, Transylvania, and northern Moldavia, with extreme temperatures of 39–40°C. Other regions will remain under orange and yellow warnings, with highs of 32–38°C. Between June 29 and July 1, the red warning will expand, covering Banat, Crișana, Maramureș, Transylvania, Moldavia, Oltenia, and the western half of Muntenia. Meteorologists warn about health risks and recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.
