The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has announced that, starting from July 30, Romania will be affected by a heat wave that will extend from the western regions.

The maximum intensity of this is expected to be reached between August 3 and 6, when temperatures will reach values of 37-39°C, especially in Banat and Crișana. During the weekend of August 1-2, the hot weather will also extend to other regions, such as Maramureș, Transylvania, Oltenia, Muntenia, and Moldova.

Meteorologists emphasize that, although July did not have thermal extremes, the heat wave will bring significant thermal discomfort, especially in the southern part of the country, where an intensification of heat is expected starting August 3.

Additionally, the ANM mentioned that the average temperature in the country is 0.1 degrees lower than the average for the period 1991-2020, which suggests that July has been cooler compared to previous years.
