Mariana Miclăuș, the general director of Metrorex, recently stated about the plans to extend the M3 line towards the Militari area, included in the investment plan for 2021-2030. The project aims to connect two important residential areas: Militari and Prelungirea Ghencea, having a positive impact on urban transport.

The extension will include two connections: Militari-Chiajna, of 3.3 km, and Militari-Cartierul Latin (Bragadiru), of 4.36 km. The Militari-Chiajna connection will link the Militari Residence area with the line, having above-ground stations and utilizing existing space to avoid costly works. The connection to Cartierul Latin will run parallel to the railway line, also having above-ground stations. The project promises to improve accessibility and reduce the use of ground transport.
