Following the explosion in the Rahova area of Bucharest, which resulted in the death of three people, investigators identified the epicenter of the incident on the 5th and 6th floors of the affected building. Chief Cristian Gheorghe, director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate, confirmed that the area was the most severely affected and stated that the building's structure is unsuitable for habitation.
Although access to the other two building blocks was permitted, each apartment will be inspected by ISC. The Prefect of the Capital, Andrei Nistor, announced that residents can gradually return to their apartments, with restrictions in Stair 2 of Block 32. The City Hall has provided financial support of nearly 200,000 lei for 51 affected families. The main hypothesis of the investigators is a crack in a gas pipe outside the building. Investigations have been conducted daily, including at night, using drones and robots due to the instability of the area.
