The Capital City Hall announced that this week work will begin to secure the building in Rahova, which was affected by an explosion in October 2025.
This phase will last approximately 50 days and will include separating the affected floors from the rest of the building, demolishing the destroyed part, and reinforcing the remaining structure. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu mentioned that, since May, the necessary connections for organizing the construction site have been secured.
The work has been delayed by almost three weeks due to the requirements of the judicial expert for additional excavations. After the safety work is completed, residents from the unaffected part of the building will be able to enter to retrieve their belongings.
Subsequently, a technical expertise will be conducted to determine the future of the remaining structure. The City Hall emphasized that not all residents will be able to return to their apartments, especially those from the affected part.
