Gabriela Firea, PSD MEP, announced that the Erasmus+ program will exceed the threshold of 5 billion euros by 2026, which will allow young Romanians to benefit from more mobility opportunities and exchanges of experience in top European universities.

This emphasizes that the funds will facilitate access for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to international programs, without the need for parents to borrow for expenses such as accommodation or transportation. Gabriela Firea mentioned that these funds are essential for young people who dream of studying abroad but face financial challenges. The announcement was made by the Vice President of the European Commission, Roxana Mînzatu, at the European Summit on Education and Skills. Firea reaffirmed her commitment to support the right of every young Romanian to education and mobility.
