Electric Networks Romania has announced a project to modernize the digital infrastructure, which includes replacing the existing GIS system with a high-performance platform capable of responding to operational and strategic requirements in a continuously changing technological context.
The General Director, Mihai Pește, emphasized that this initiative is essential for accelerating digitalization and building a smart electrical network. The new platform will integrate the most advanced cybersecurity standards, allowing for more efficient management of the electrical network, including for prosumers. The system will include standard software and a mobile application, ensuring interoperability with other operational applications. The project will cover 136,000 kilometers of power lines and will enable rapid analysis of the network's status. Cybersecurity will be a priority, with integrated protection measures from the design phase. The implementation of the project is estimated to take 17 months, followed by a 7-month transition period.
