Electrocentrale București (ELCEN) informs that its power plants operate in safe conditions, delivering thermal agent to the heating system of the Capital. The temperatures delivered by the four power plants are in accordance with the orders, however, any request to increase the flow could lead to exceeding contractual parameters and risks of damage. ELCEN emphasizes that the heating system is interdependent, and the return parameters influence the balance of the entire system.
Currently, the system loses over 2000 tons of water per hour, which is double the accepted norm, putting the installations under stress and reducing their lifespan. Any increase in flows must be accompanied by a reduction in network losses to ensure safe operation. ELCEN warns that forcing the flows under these conditions can lead to serious damage.
