Călin Georgescu is being taken out of the Central Arrest Facility on Thursday, for the third consecutive day, and brought to the DIICOT headquarters, where the digital searches of the devices seized from his villa in Mogoșoaia are continuing. His wife, Cristela Georgescu, arrived at the DIICOT headquarters at around 8:20 a.m., where she is scheduled to be questioned.
In recent days, Călin Georgescu has been brought to DIICOT in a van from the Central Arrest Facility, while the detention center employees escorted him into the building through the rear entrance. According to the information presented, investigators are conducting digital searches of the devices seized from the family villa in Mogoșoaia.
As part of the investigation, DIICOT imposed precautionary measures on the villa in Mogoșoaia and on Călin Georgescu’s bank accounts. The accounts are reportedly holding more than 100,000 euros. The seizure of the property was imposed on September 24, in order to recover any potential damage.
The case concerns allegations of an alleged fraud, as a result of which a businessman was allegedly defrauded of approximately 1.1 million euros. Investigations are continuing to establish the facts and any potential criminal liability.
