Several cracks have appeared on the A10 Sebeș-Turda Highway, in the area of kilometer 66, on one of the traffic lanes, affecting a section of road that was repaired three years ago.
The subsidence has led to the detachment of a section of nearly one meter, and the ground continues to slide, extending almost to the middle of the second lane. For safety reasons, traffic is being conducted on a single lane, and the speed limit has been reduced to 60 km/h. Additionally, the embankment and protective barriers have been affected over a distance of more than 50 meters.
Teams from the Cluj Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges are handling the consolidation works, which will begin on Tuesday. The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) has requested an expertise to determine the cause of the subsidence, and if it is established that the damages are the result of a construction error, the repair costs will be borne by the contractor.
