TikTok alerted the Romanian authorities after a couple from Galați raped two children and attempted to livestream the images.

The social media platform TikTok has alerted the authorities in Romania regarding a serious case of abuse, in which a couple from Galați raped a three-month-old baby and a one-year-and-seven-month-old girl, attempting to broadcast the images live. The woman and the man have been placed in preventive detention for 30 days by DIICOT, which proposed their arrest to the Braila Tribunal.

The man is accused of rape and child pornography, while the children's mother is charged with complicity in these acts. Although the children are the woman's, the man is not listed as the father on the birth certificates, although there are suspicions that he could be the biological father. The case is being handled by DIICOT - Braila Territorial Office, due to a shortage of prosecutors within DIICOT - Galați Territorial Service.
