The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Vasile Tofan, announced on Tuesday two changes in the composition of the Government. Claudiu Năsui, former Minister of Economy in Romania, is proposed for the position of Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, while Eugeniu Osmochescu is proposed to lead the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Tofan emphasized that Osmochescu has a "good knowledge" of government mechanisms and the assumed priorities, having an economic background and experience in attracting resources for the modernization of agriculture.
Năsui, a USR deputy, with a "solid training" in economics and experience in the private sector, will focus on "de-bureaucratizing the state apparatus, solving the problems of state companies, reducing budget expenditures, and eliminating obstacles that stand in the way of small and medium enterprises," according to Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
Tofan stated that these appointments are meant to accelerate reforms and make the state more efficient, providing more space for economic growth.
