Prime Minister Luca Niculescu appoints nine state secretaries to seven ministries

Prime Minister Luca Niculescu signed the decisions on Wednesday appointing nine state secretaries to seven ministries, with the documents published in the Official Gazette. The new officials will hold positions at the ministries of Transport, Labor, Internal Affairs, Development, Energy, Economy, and Investments and European Projects.

Ioan Cristian Șologon and Ionuț Cristian Săvoiu were appointed to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity will have Gheorghița Daniela Barbu as state secretary, while Silviu Nicu Macovei was appointed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Aurel Dragoș Drăghescu, from PSD Gorj, and Vlad Ștefan Niculae were appointed to the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration. Pavel Casian Nițulescu will serve as state secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Laurențiu Viorel Gîdei at the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, and Cristina Breșug at the Ministry of Investments and European Projects.

Five of those appointed are returning to the ministries they resigned from in April, following the PSD’s withdrawal from the government: Ioan Cristian Șologon, Gheorghița Daniela Barbu, Silviu Nicu Macovei, Pavel Casian Nițulescu and Laurențiu Viorel Gîdei. Cristina Breșug had been dismissed from her position as state secretary at the Ministry of Economy in September 2025.
