A four-car pile-up has blocked the exit from Bucharest on the DN1, causing additional difficulties in the context of heavy New Year's Eve traffic.

The accident occurred at the exit of Bucharest on the DN1 highway, in the direction of Otopeni, completely blocking the exit from the capital. Traffic was further affected as many cars were heading to mountain destinations for New Year's Eve. Authorities are advising drivers to avoid overtaking and take alternative routes.
