The national railway passenger transport operator, CFR Călători, will operate on December 1, 2025, on the occasion of the Great Union Day, 36 special trains that will serve the city of Alba Iulia. These trains will bear symbolic names, such as 'King Ferdinand I the Unifier', 'Ion I.C. Brătianu', 'Iuliu Maniu' and 'Vasile Goldiș', each having the role of highlighting the historical and cultural connection between the regions of Romania.


The trains will provide a symbolic and physical connection between the main historical regions of the country, emphasizing the importance of railway transport in the unification and territorial cohesion of Romania. CFR Călători reminds that daily, over 1,030 trains ensure mobility between localities in the country, thus highlighting the essential role of this mode of transport in national history.
