CFR Călători is increasing the capacity of trains operating to and from Iași from October 8 to 15, 2026, in response to increased demand generated by the pilgrimage to Saint Pious Parascheva. The measure is intended to facilitate travel for passengers from major cities to the capital of Moldavia and back.
During the period of highest demand, October 11/12–14/15, trains will have additional carriages, and the company will also introduce direct train services on the Bucharest North–Pașcani–Iași route and back.
Train IR 1659/IR 1968 will depart from Bucharest North at 10:20 p.m. and will have direct carriages to Iași, arriving at 5:15 a.m. The train will continue to Vatra Dornei Băi, where it will arrive at 7:30 a.m.
From October 12 to 15, train IR 1654/IR 1969 will run from Suceava to Bucharest North, departing at 12:28 p.m. and arriving at 6:56 p.m. It will also have direct carriages from Iași, departing at 12:00 p.m.
CFR Călători recommends that passengers use all available trains and purchase their tickets in advance, subject to available seats. Online reservations can be made until the departure time.
