An after-school program in Voluntari suspends classes for the pilgrimage dedicated to Saint Parascheva

Parents of students in Voluntari were informed through a WhatsApp group that the after-school program would not operate on October 8 and 9, because some of the employees were reportedly planning to attend the pilgrimage in Iași dedicated to Saint Paraskeva. Activities were scheduled to resume on Monday, October 12.

The message angered families who rely on the service to supervise their children after classes end. One of the parents filed a complaint with the school’s management and intends to notify the Directorate for Cultural, Sports Education and Community Identity (DECSIC), the institution under which the program operates.

Subsequently, the after-school management stated that the message circulated in the parents’ groups did not represent an official position. The institution’s director said there was no intention of suspending activities. The program operates under the Voluntari City Hall.
