The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) has launched checks on rail routes, especially to the seaside, following complaints about travel conditions. Passengers are complaining about lack of air conditioning, blocked fittings and unsanitized toilets, especially in summer when passenger numbers increase. ANPC president Cristian Popescu Piedone stressed the need to improve rail services and announced direct checks on trains to assess the situation.
