The National Administration "Apele Române" (ANAR) declared that the lack of access to drinking water for the residents of the city of Curtea de Argeș is the responsibility of the local company, which has not made investments in equipment for over 50 years. ANAR explained that the program for draining the Vidraru reservoir was requested by S.P.E.E.H. Hidroelectrica S.A. and that the responsibility for ensuring the necessary flows for water supply lies with the local operator.

Additionally, ANAR has no responsibilities in treating or purifying water, as these are the duties of the local operator and health authorities. ANAR has conducted inspections and monitoring to address pollution issues, but emphasized that it does not manage the draining operations of the Vidraru reservoir.
