The National Administration Apele Române (ANAR) admitted that it has a part of the blame in the drinking water crisis in Prahova, highlighting that better communication between the involved institutions was necessary, especially at the county and local levels. Although ANAR signaled the danger of water supply interruption to all authorities, the prefect of Prahova County, Daniel Nicodim, stated that he was not properly informed about the risks related to the Paltinu Dam.

The spokesperson of ANAR, Ana-Maria Agiu, emphasized the importance of emergency situation committees and mentioned that each municipality must have a local plan for such situations. ANAR stressed that, in the event of crises, the water operator must be prepared with alternative supply sources.
