The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) issued a statement on Friday, warning about the continuation of fraudulent phone calls, in which individuals impersonate ANAF Anti-Fraud inspectors. These attempts at deception, known as vishing, involve stealing the identity of ANAF inspectors and requesting personal and banking information.

Fraudsters use information and names published on the official ANAF portal to create an appearance of legitimacy, but the phone numbers used do not belong to the institution. ANAF emphasizes that inspectors do not request such information over the phone and advises citizens not to disclose personal data.

In the event of receiving such calls, ANAF encourages the use of the contact form available on the official website to report the details of the call, which will be included in reports to the criminal investigation authorities for the investigation of fraud attempts.
