The anti-fraud inspectors from ANAF discovered a fraudulent mechanism through which four companies in the security and protection sector defrauded the state budget by over 12.35 million lei, using false invoices.

These companies, although registered separately, were controlled by the same individuals and operated as a single circuit. ANAF found that the companies were recording fictitious operations, with suppliers without real economic activity, to artificially reduce their VAT and profit tax liabilities. The money collected from clients was withdrawn in cash through over 6,600 operations, thus avoiding attracting attention.

The estimated damage includes unpaid VAT of 8.37 million lei and profit tax of nearly 3.95 million lei. The case has been sent to prosecutors, and ANAF continues its checks to determine the extent of the scheme and recover the owed money.
