On Friday, a new stretch of nearly 30 kilometers of the Moldova Highway A7 was opened, allowing traffic from Bucharest to almost Buzău. Although it had been completed for several months, the inauguration was delayed due to faulty welds. The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, promised that by the end of the year, two additional segments will be opened, one of nearly 14 km from Pietroasele to Buzău and another of 50 km between Focșani and Adjud.
Bulgarian contractors faced difficulties, including issues with welds on three bridges, but these have been resolved. Drivers from Mizil are happy about the opening of the highway, which will reduce congestion in the town. Representatives of CNAIR also announced other projects nearing completion, including the Braila-Galati expressway.
