An 84-year-old woman died after the car she was traveling in ended up in the waters of the Dniester River while heading toward Tighina. According to information published by the Transnistrian militia, the incident occurred after the driver of a Suzuki followed the navigation app’s directions onto a route that included crossing the river by ferry.
The car was occupied by the driver, his wife and the elderly woman. The driver reportedly failed to orient himself in time and drove the vehicle directly into the water. The car began to sink, but the driver and his wife managed to escape the passenger compartment.
The 84-year-old woman remained trapped in the vehicle and could not be rescued. She died as a result of the incident.
