Cătălin Predoiu, the Minister of Internal Affairs, announced on Thursday that the future stadium in Ștefan cel Mare will bear the name of the legendary coach Mircea Lucescu, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80. Predoiu made this announcement at the exit from the National Arena, where the funeral ceremonies dedicated to Lucescu are taking place. He emphasized that he initiated the steps to honor the coach's memory, and the new stadium will be named Dinamo Mircea Lucescu. The stadium, which will be built on the site of the old arena, is expected to be completed in a few years, thus continuing the tradition and legacy left by Lucescu in Romanian football.
