The 35-year-old Romanian player Sorana Cîrstea, ranked 138 WTA, was eliminated in the round of 16 of the WTA 1000 Cincinnati Open by Polish Iga Swiatek, the number 3 favorite, after a one hour and 35 minute match, 6-4, 6-3. Swiatek advances to the quarter-finals, where she will play the winner of the Alexandrova - Kalinskaya match.
