Romania dropped three places in the FIFA rankings, now in 48th place with 1474.46 points. Argentina remain top, followed by Spain and France. Portugal climbed to sixth, overtaking the Netherlands. Austria, who beat Romania in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, is in 22nd place. The FIFA rankings will be updated again on September 18.
