The mixed 8+1 crew of Romania won the gold medal on Sunday at the European Rowing Championships, held in Varese, Italy.
The crew members, consisting of Magdalena Rusu, Maria Lehaci, Ancuța Bodnar, Florin Lehaci, Andrei Vatamaniuc, Leontin Nuțescu, Ștefan Berariu, Amalia Chelaru, and Victoria Petreanu (coxswains), achieved a clear victory against the German team.
Additionally, Marian Enache and Iulia Bălăucă won gold in the mixed double event, while the men's and women's 8+1 crews also secured gold medals. This is the sixth gold for Romania in Varese, following the two gold medals won on Saturday in double sculls by Simona Radiș and Adriana Adam, respectively, and Ștefan Berariu and Florin Lehaci.
Romania also recorded two other medals, one silver and one bronze, thus strengthening its performance in the competition.
