Rafa Benitez has officially become the coach of Panathinaikos

The former coach of Liverpool, Rafa Benitez, was hired on Friday by Panathinaikos, a team currently in seventh place in the Greek Super League. His contract, valid until 2027, includes the highest salary ever given to a coach in Greece, estimated at around 4 million euros per season, with an option to extend for another year.
Benitez, at the age of 65, has extensive experience, having previously coached renowned clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Newcastle. His last experience was at Celta Vigo, from where he was dismissed in March 2024 after a poor run in the league.
