Costel Gâlcă has sued Rapid for failing to pay his last three salaries, covering the months of March, April and May. The former coach of the Giulești-based side is seeking payment of a €60,000 debt, according to golazo.ro.
Gâlcă spent just one season in charge of Rapid and parted ways with the club at the end of the previous campaign. The coach had a monthly salary of €20,000, and the amount claimed represents his last three unpaid salaries. The case is to be reviewed by the competent committees.
Three other members of the coaching staff have also taken legal action against the club for the same reason. They are assistant coach Dumitru Uzunea, fitness coach Ciprian Prună and video analyst Marius Francisc. They claim they have not received their salaries for the same period.
Costel Gâlcă and Rapid parted ways amicably after the team failed to achieve any of its objectives last season. The dispute now concerns the financial obligations remaining after the end of their collaboration.
