The Prahova Tribunal approved on June 8, 2026, the request for insolvency of the Sports Club Association Petrolul 52, marking the beginning of a judicial reorganization procedure. This does not mean bankruptcy, but offers the club the opportunity to stabilize its financial situation and pay its debts under judicial supervision. The court has set important procedural deadlines, including the presentation of a report on the causes of insolvency by July 17, 2026.

The club's vice president, Cristian Fogarassy, stated that insolvency is an opportunity to implement a debt reduction plan, which amounts to approximately 9 million euros, of which 4.4 million are debts to the tax authorities. The club hopes to reduce these amounts and continue its activities legally.
