Four players from Romania have been directly accepted into the main singles draw of the US Open 2026, according to the entry lists published by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
Sorana Cîrstea, ranked 17th in the WTA, is the highest-ranked Romanian player, followed by Jaqueline Cristian (41 WTA), Elena-Gabriela Ruse (73 WTA), and Irina-Camelia Begu, who is participating based on a protected ranking, reserved for players who have been absent from the circuit for an extended period due to injuries.
The tournament will take place between August 23 and September 13, with the singles matches starting on August 30. The entry lists were compiled based on the ATP and WTA rankings as of July 20.
In the women's category, Aryna Sabalenka will try to win her third consecutive title, while in the men's category, Jannik Sinner aims to reclaim the trophy. The United States has the largest delegation, with 28 players accepted directly. The draws will be completed with wild cards and players qualifying from the preliminary tournaments.
