A Shahed-type drone illegally flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on the morning of Friday, April 3, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The incident was detected by the surveillance systems of the National Army at 08:13. The drone entered national territory from the direction of the locality Beleaevka, Odesa region, Ukraine, and moved towards Tudora, Ștefan Vodă district, before returning back to Ukraine. The flight occurred at an altitude of 3,000 meters and at a speed of 167 km/h, leaving the airspace of Moldova at 08:15. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that monitoring systems continue to oversee the airspace, cooperating with national and international authorities to ensure the safety of citizens.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova has been illegally overflown by dozens of drones, some of which carried explosives on board, causing serious incidents on national territory. Moldovan authorities condemn these actions and continue to take measures to prevent risks.
