The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) has denied the information that generals Gheorghiță Vlad and Iulian Berdilă have submitted their retirement requests after the DNA initiated criminal proceedings against General Vlad.

The spokesperson for MApN, Daniel Nistor, stated for Hotnews that "they have not submitted anything." The accusations against General Vlad include complicity in usurping the function, as he is accused of issuing an order for the admission of 20 students to the National University of Physical Education and Sports in Bucharest, with the aim of transferring them to the budget. General Berdilă is involved in the case by signing a request for the increase of budget places.

Following the accusations, the president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, requested the resignation of General Vlad, who has denied the accusations and has not commented on a possible withdrawal or retirement.
