Cristian Pomohaci was detained for 24 hours by the Mureș County Police Inspectorate, after searches were carried out at his home.

The folk music singer Cristian Pomohaci, a former priest, was detained for 24 hours and placed in the Mureș Center for Detention and Preventive Arrest, following home searches carried out in a criminal case concerning the crimes of rape of a minor and sexual assault.

Authorities announced that investigations continue under the coordination of the case prosecutor, to document the entire criminal activity and establish the facts accurately.

Pomohaci is a well-known public figure in folk music and has been involved in several controversies, including an investigation regarding relationships with minors, which was closed in 2019. Additionally, in 2020, he was sentenced to one year in prison with a suspended sentence for tax evasion.
