An explosive drone was discovered in a village in the Republic of Moldova, 2 km from the border with Ukraine / Locals are being evacuated

An active drone was found on Tuesday in the village of Tudora, approximately 2 km from the border line of the Republic of Moldova with Ukraine. The Border Police reported that the device could be equipped with explosive payload.

Specialists from the technical-explosive section are prepared to carry out a controlled explosion, and the area is secured to ensure the safety of the locals.

"At the moment, the danger is being assessed and necessary actions are being taken to establish all circumstances and to defuse the combat part of the aircraft, and all locals are being evacuated from the vicinity," the law enforcement officials noted.

The incident was observed in the morning of March 17, when border police detected an unknown aircraft, similar to a Shahed-type drone, flying over the airspace of Moldova. As a precautionary measure, the authorities decided to evacuate the locals from the area.
