On Friday morning, an unidentified drone flew over the south of the Republic of Moldova for nearly 30 minutes, causing the temporary closure of the country's airspace. The incident was reported by the Ministry of Defense, which specified that the drone was detected coming from Ukraine, crossing the Taraclia district and heading towards the village of Moscovei, Cahul district, where it disappeared from radar near the locality of Larga Nouă. The airspace was closed between 09:55 and 10:08, and was later reopened, but remained closed in the southern part.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău condemned the unauthorized overflight, emphasizing that it represents a serious violation of Moldova's sovereignty. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova has recorded numerous incidents of this type, including Russian missiles and drones that have entered its airspace. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and store information about these incidents.
