The Court of Appeal Center (Chișinău) accepted the prosecutor's appeal, overturning the partial sentence pronounced by the Strășeni Court on December 30, 2024, in the case of Iurie Scutari. He was accused of promising to employ two people as foresters within the I.S. Strășeni forestry-hunting enterprise, in exchange for sums of money. The appellate court established a sentence of 3 years in prison, of which 1 year and 6 months will be served effectively, the rest being conditionally suspended with a probation period of 3 years. Additionally, the fine of 150,000 lei imposed by the Strășeni Court was upheld. The defendant was accused of demanding amounts between 8,000 and 10,000 euros to facilitate employment, according to witness statements. The penalties provided by the Penal Code for his offenses ranged from fines to imprisonment, depending on the severity of the act.
