A 31-year-old man from Salonta, Bihor County, has been sent to trial for fraud with particularly serious consequences and computer fraud, all in a continuous form. Between June 2022 and February 2025, he defrauded several individuals and commercial companies, promising that he would purchase cars from various European countries, especially Germany, if they paid him in advance the equivalent value of the vehicles. The man managed to mislead the victims, collecting a total of 2,423,171 lei, without making the promised purchases.
To maintain the fraud, he forged documents, including invoices and payment orders, and altered the content of some electronic documents. Also, in 2022, he misled a company administrator, obtaining a Mercedes-Benz tractor unit, but only paid part of the amount. The man was initially in preventive detention for 90 days and is now under judicial control. Protective measures have been instituted to recover the damage.
