Kelemen Hunor, the leader of UDMR, announced that his party will not be part of a potential Veștea Government, emphasizing that the current political situation does not allow for such involvement. In a Facebook post, Hunor explained that UDMR analyzed the power relations in Parliament and the interests of the Hungarian community in Transylvania, concluding that the necessary conditions to join the negotiations led by Adrian Veștea are not met.
He emphasized the importance of an open political dialogue between the parties of the former coalition to reach an agreement on forming a majority or minority government. Hunor expressed concern that behind the Veștea Government, an uncertain majority could emerge, which would require the support of extremist parties, which is unacceptable.
UDMR recommended that parliamentarians not vote for this government, thus complicating the calculations for the investiture of the designated prime minister. PNL and USR also confirmed that they will not support the Veștea Government, which further complicates the formation of a stable majority.
