UDMR leaders decided on Friday in a meeting that they will not withdraw their ministers from Bolojan's Government and will continue with the Prime Minister, if the social democrats withdraw political support from Ilie Bolojan, writes Digi24.
UDMR convened a meeting of the Permanent Council in Cluj to discuss the party's strategy following the elections in Hungary, where Viktor Orban, supported by the Union, lost. Internal criticisms regarding the leadership's policies, especially those of Kelemen Hunor, were also on the agenda of the meeting.
UDMR leaders also analyzed the possible implications of the withdrawal of support by PSD for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
"Now, in a personal capacity, I do not believe that there will be such a decision to withdraw our ministers as well. We have said that this country needs stability. I do not think that on top of these overlapping crises, we need a political crisis as well. We are not umbilically tied, so to speak, to either PSD or PNL," said Csoma Botond, the leader of UDMR deputies, in a discussion with HotNews, before the Council meeting.
