The designated Prime Minister Adrian Veștea is expected on Thursday to submit the government program and the list of ministers to Parliament, after a series of difficult negotiations, while at 11:00 a meeting of the united parliamentary groups of the PSD is scheduled to approve the list of ministers and the government program.
The designated Prime Minister's plan is for the hearings of the ministers in Parliament and the vote of the united plenary to take place today as well, sources cited in the press said yesterday.
UDMR has stated that it will not be part of the reformed coalition and has recommended to parliamentarians not to vote for the Veștea Government. Although Veștea has tried to gain support from the PSD and other groups, PNL and USR have announced that they will not support the proposal, with PNL threatening to exclude parliamentarians who support Veștea. Thus, Adrian Veștea is relying on the votes of the PSD, which could provide 127 votes, and on the votes from the group United for Romania (19) and PACE (11), reaching a total of 157 votes out of the 233 needed.
The chances of the Government passing through Parliament remain low, without significant support from PNL or other parties.
