On the occasion of November 11, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan paid tribute to the heroes who contributed to the foundation of the Romanian state and to all the soldiers who, through dedication and professionalism, ensure the security of the country. This date marks the signing of the Armistice in 1918, which ended World War I, and the sacrifice of Second Lieutenant Iosif Silviu Fogarași, who fell in mission in Afghanistan in 2003.
Romania has lost 31 soldiers in external missions, and over 200 have been injured. The Prime Minister emphasized that the model of action, dignity, and courage of these soldiers inspires and guides the nation, highlighting the importance of national interest over personal interest. He also thanked the veterans for their contribution to building a free, safe, and democratic Romania.
