Toto Dumitrescu was involved in a traffic accident in September, after which he left the scene of the incident, although he was not at fault. A forensic examination showed that he did not have in his blood a quantity of drugs that would affect his ability to drive, although tests conducted at INML indicated a positive result for cocaine. The accident occurred when a 23-year-old female driver collided with the vehicle driven by Dumitrescu, causing damage and injuring her. Taking advantage of the created commotion, Dumitrescu fled the scene, being found by police 48 hours later in an apartment. He was detained for 24 hours, being accused of leaving the scene of the accident and altering or destroying its traces.
