In his Sunday message, on the occasion of the International Day of Struggle Against Fascism and Antisemitism, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized the necessity of assuming collective responsibility in combating hatred and intolerance. He recalled the atrocities committed by the fascist regime, including the Night of Broken Glass, a tragic episode in European history that led to the Holocaust. Bolojan highlighted that, although these acts of hatred knew no borders, they also manifested in Romania, where Jewish communities were persecuted. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Romanian Government to combat antisemitism, discrimination, xenophobia, and hate speech, emphasizing the importance of social cohesion and trust in society.
