Bulgaria is in a crisis situation, having sufficient gasoline reserves for one month, against the backdrop of sanctions imposed by the US on the Russian company Lukoil, which owns the largest refinery in the country. The President of the State Agency for 'State Reserves and War Stocks', Assen Assenov, mentioned that the country has diesel reserves for over 50 days and that the mandatory reserves are filled to 98%. Approximately half of these reserves are located in Bulgaria, and the rest abroad. Lukoil supplies nearly 80% of private reserves, and the state will ensure fuel supply, regardless of the private sector. In the event of a crisis, internal stocks will be used first, and fuel prices have already increased as a result of the sanctions. The Energy Commission in Bulgaria has approved a proposal that requires the approval of the Council of Ministers for the sale of Lukoil assets.
