Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the withdrawal of the Government's decision regarding the National Strategy for Biodiversity Conservation 2026-2030, following complaints filed by the PSD.
Bolojan stated that the Government will not allow political disputes to affect Romania's economic interests, emphasizing the importance of the biodiversity strategy for fulfilling a milestone in the PNRR, associated with European funds of over 970 million euros.
The Prime Minister specified that the government decision initially adopted on July 23, 2026, had the approval of the Ministry of Justice and was part of the commitments made by Romania at the European level.
At the same time, Bolojan accused the PSD of trying to block the Government's activity by contesting in court several government decisions, including the one regarding the biodiversity strategy, arguing that the social democrats' actions pursue political interests.
