The Romanian executive will adopt on Thursday, in an ordinary meeting, an emergency ordinance to manage the fuel crisis and ensure supply security for citizens and the economy.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that measures are being worked on to ensure fair behavior in the fuel market, and additional revenues from VAT will be reinvested in financing schemes.
The impact of these schemes is estimated to exceed 1 billion lei.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration with social partners to identify effective and transparent solutions, announcing that a new series of measures will be presented next week, against the backdrop of international market volatility:
"We assure citizens and social partners that we are seriously working on support measures to ensure fair behavior in the fuel market, considering developments in international markets. In the first Government meeting, we will approve an Emergency Ordinance that will allow intervention in the market and ensure supply security for citizens and the economy, and next week we will come up with a new set of solutions".
