The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies rejected, on Wednesday, the project initiated by USR deputy Oana Murariu, which would have reintroduced the evaluation for judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice.

"Today's vote in Parliament is a mistake. In the context of seeing the protests of the magistrates – the law prohibits them from going on strike, so I call them protests – and how the processes are constantly being delayed, how an entire system mocks the citizens, it seems to me a mistake for the plenary to reject by vote the USR proposal which aimed to cut a privilege of some magistrates. It is abnormal to maintain the lack of evaluation of the magistrates from the ICCJ. No one is above the law, no one is God to not have their activity evaluated. And a judge from the ICCJ can make absolutely absurd decisions and no one evaluates their activity?", declared USR deputy Oana Murariu.
