After the meeting with President Nicușor Dan at the Cotroceni Palace, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reaffirmed the Alliance's firm commitment to the defense of Romania. He emphasized that NATO is a defensive alliance "always ready to defend," and that "in the event of an attack, 31 countries will come to the defense of Romania." Rutte stressed the unity of member states in the face of any threat.

President Nicușor Dan spoke about strengthening defense on the Eastern Flank through the Eastern Sentry operation, which allows for the rapid deployment of military capabilities. He also mentioned the "Dacian Fall" exercise, in which 5,000 allied troops are participating, as an example of concrete cooperation in the field of defense.
